Cultballer is a daily football guessing game about cult heroes: the players fans still talk about for one brilliant season, one unforgettable goal or one moment the terraces never let go of.

How it works

A new player drops every day at midnight UK time, and everyone gets the same one. You have six guesses. The first clue is free, and every wrong guess unlocks the next: the stat, the nationality, the era, the moment, the club and finally the initials.

Type any name you like. The full name or just the surname will do.

When you finish, you’ll see how everyone else did that day, and can vote on whether the player was streets-worthy or overrated. Your own stats stay in your browser, and there are no accounts. The privacy page explains what the game keeps.

Words only

The game is told in words and colour: no photos, club crests or kits.

Every clue and story is written for this site and checked against the sources listed on each player’s page. If you spot a mistake, please let us know.

Cultballer isn’t connected to any club, league or player. Club and competition names belong to their owners.
